Shirelle Edghill, CFCP

Responsible Practitioner

Center Director

My husband Michael and I were high school sweethearts. We took our first course in natural family planning (NFP) in 2002 during our engagement. During that course I learned so much about my body, and began to understand how we could use that knowledge to plan our family and avoid using contraception. We had two children in 2003 and 2005, and 7 years later two more children in 2012 and 2014. We decided to learn The Creighton Model FertilityCare System in 2012 in order to make better sense of some of the confusing signs I was seeing while nursing my third baby. In 2014 I used NaPro TECHNOLOGY™  to treat postpartum depression and in 2017 I again sought help from a trained NaPro physician to treat symptoms of PMS.

We believe the use of natural methods has taught us how to communicate and share the family planning responsibility in our marriage and that NaPro Technology has improved my health.

After becoming a mom I made the decision to return to college to finish my undergraduate degree. I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Texas Woman’s University in 2008, and then went on to complete my Texas educator certification to become a classroom teacher. I taught 2nd and 3rd grade for 2 years. After the birth of our third child I still desired a career in education, but needed a position which would allow me to have a more flexible schedule for my family. In 2014 I began training to become a Creighton Model FertilityCare Practitioner. This graduate level training requires more than 150 hours of classroom instruction and a supervised 13 month internship. In order to continue to develop myself as a practitioner, in early 2017 I earned the additional credential of “Certified FertilityCare Practitioner,” a distinction which indicates that I have had my work evaluated by my professional peers and am now an active member of our professional organization, The American Academy of FertilityCare Professionals. I am the responsible practitioner for Infinity FertilityCare, an affiliate of the FertilityCare Centers of America.
